WELCOME TO MUSTANG V3
Thank you for taking the time to read our rules.
GENERAL:
POSTING:
CHARACTERS:
¤ We are strong believers in mutual respect. Whether you are a new member or a staff member, you will be respected and treated equally and fairly.
¤ One account per member.
¤ After posting your character's bio, please wait for them to be accepted by a staff member before posting.
¤ If new members do not post within 14 days, their account will be deleted.
¤ Cursing is not allowed out of character, in the chat box or in thread titles, but may be used in any in character posts.
¤ If members are inactive for 1-2 months without an absence post their account will be deleted.
¤ Three weeks are equal to one season.
¤ Power-playing: General biting/nipping/touching allowed, as this helps keep things exciting. The only exception to this rule are lead mares and stallions, as sometimes they need a bit more power to make sure their rank is respected as it should be. To this end they may power-play with the members of their herd - no matter what land they're in! They may also power-play to punish unwelcome trespassers or to chase them from their land. Such power-playing examples include inflicting mild wounds, dodging any retaliation and herding (chasing away). Beyond these exceptions/allowances no power-playing or god-moding is allowed.
¤ You must create and maintain a character log and link to it in your signature, mini-profile, or posts. No one likes having to search for information about the character they are replying to. You will be contacted by a member of staff if you have not posted a log within 7 days of creating your first character.
¤ Pictures must have credits, and may not be wider than 550 pixels. Remember to get your photos from stock providers, such as DeviantArt and Flickr, NOT google.
¤ If you are caught stealing someone else's picture it will be removed immediately, and upon second offense you will be banned.
¤ Members may buy and sell merchandise.
POSTING:
¤ Liquid time (characters being in multiple threads/areas at once) is allowed.
¤ There is a minimum word count of 150 for IC posts.
¤ No chat speak should be used within posts.
¤ A thread may be reserved for another player or character.
¤ However, you may not "claim" an open thread. By this, I mean you may not make a post in a open thread that says "I claim this! Post coming!" because then other members that have the time to get a response up and get rp'ing don't have the chance to reply.
¤ Try to stick with posting order. If there are three characters in one thread, you should each respond in order.
CHARACTERS:
¤ Only horses are allowed, with the exception of purchased pets. These may not be roleplayed alone, however.
¤ Keep in mind that these are wild horses and don't tend to live over 15 or 20 years.
¤ Mares may not be joined already pregnant.
¤ All characters age one year in the Spring.
¤ You may play as many lead mares and stallions as you like. However, you may only have one character with a claimed land in their name.
¤ To claim a land you must have 100 posts and at least one member in your band/herd.
BREEDING/BIRTHING:
¤ Force breeding is allowed if both players consent.
¤ No graphic breeding is allowed; no exceptions. This violates ProBoards terms and conditions as well as on-site rules.
¤ Breeding is done in spring.
¤ Birthing is done in autumn of the same year.
¤ Foals turn one the spring after they were born.
¤ In order to breed, post your characters stats in the "BREEDING" board using the correct form inside.
¤ Twins can only be purchased with Gemstones. View the store for more info/options.
¤ For a mare to give birth, simply post a birthing thread in the "BIRTHING" board. This should be brief, and does not have to meet the word count of other IC posts.
¤ If a pregnant mare goes inactive, the member that plays the foal’s father may post in the birthing board explaining that the mare has gone inactive, and then their foal will
not be deemed stillborn.
¤ In order to breed, the two horses breeding must have had a recent thread together. This link is required in order to fill out the breeding form, and should have been roleplayed in within one week.
BATTLE RULES:¤ All judged fights are to be played out on this board.
¤ Rapid-fire battles are encouraged; keeping your posts under 400-500 words will help the battle conclude more quickly, and will make the judging process easier for staff members.
¤ Each MEMBER is only allowed two challenges for a herd land per game year. Whether you use these for the same character, or two different ones, is up to you.
¤ Each time a land is won in a battle, there will be a one season wait period before such land can challenged for again. After a leader is challenged for their land or receives/claims a new land, they may not be challenged again for three real life weeks (one season).
¤ Each fighter is allowed to have 2 hits and 0 dodges. Both of the attacks may be included in one post or separate posts.
¤ No powerplaying! This will be an automatic loss!
¤ No horse can die unless previously discussed and agreed on.
¤ Lead mares may fight other lead mares.
¤ Lead mares and stallions can fight together in a duel battle if agreed upon by all participants.
¤ Once the fight begins, if a member doesn't post a completed reply within 72 hours they lose on default. Injuries will still be dealt if any attacks have been written.
¤ Once you have completed your battle post you must add a note at the bottom of your post with the exact time you finished the post (including the time zone). After this no more edits will be allowed to a post.
¤ When challenging for a mare or stallion, you must PM the member whose herd they are in, as well as post here in the Battle Ground. The member who is being challenged must reply within one week or they lose the mare/stallion. (Unless they are away.)
¤ When challenging for a herd land, you must post a thread in the herd land (not via PM!). If the lead does not reply to your post in one week you will win by default. (Unless the member is away.) If the challenged does reply accepting the challenge then you must begin a thread on this board (within 72 hours or your challenge will be void).
¤ Once the fight thread is posted on this board, if either opponent doesn't respond within 72 hours the other opponent wins by default.
¤ Posting as away will not count towards battles unless you post as away before the battle starts.
¤ Judges will decide who wins and their judgment will be based on points awarded for certain criteria. See "Judgment System" section below.
¤ Only one staff member needs to judge fights, however, you may request to have two staff members judge a fight ONLY if it is over land. A tie will result in a third judge.
¤ If an inactive lead loses their land they may not challenge again until one real life month has passed (eg. if they lost the land on 20th December they cannot challenge again until 20th January).
¤ Leads may set terms for the horses that challenge them. Such as who posts first, what happens to the loser, etc.
¤ The character being fought for has no say in who wins/who they go with.
Rules regarding battles, breeding, and stealing can be found in their respective boards.
