Battle Rules You must have at least 100 posts to challenge for a land and at least 50 posts to challenge for a mare/stallion.
HOW IT WORKS: Your battle can be fought in a setting of your choice - simply set the scene at the beginning of your first post like so:
"LOTUS BOG SUMMER, MID-MORNING begin post here…"
Battles for land generally take place in the land being fought for.
RULES:
¤ All judged fights are to be played out on this board. ¤ Rapid-fire battles are encouraged; keeping your posts under 400-500 words will help the battle conclude more quickly, and will make the judging process easier for staff members. ¤ Each MEMBER is only allowed two challenges for a herd land per game year. Whether you use these for the same character, or two different ones, is up to you. ¤ Each time a land is won in a battle, there will be a one season wait period before such land can challenged for again. After a leader is challenged for their land or receives/claims a new land, they may not be challenged again for three real life weeks (one season). ¤ Each fighter is allowed to have 2 hits and 0 dodges. Both of the attacks may be included in one post or separate posts. ¤ No powerplaying! This will be an automatic loss! ¤ No horse can die unless previously discussed and agreed on. ¤ Lead mares may fight other lead mares. ¤ Lead mares and stallions can fight together in a duel battle if agreed upon by all participants. ¤ Once the fight begins, if a member doesn't post a completed reply within 72 hours they lose on default. Injuries will still be dealt if any attacks have been written. ¤ Once you have completed your battle post you must add a note at the bottom of your post with the exact time you finished the post (including the time zone). After this no more edits will be allowed to a post. ¤ When challenging for a mare or stallion, you must PM the member whose herd they are in, as well as post here in the Battle Ground. The member who is being challenged must reply within one week or they lose the mare/stallion. (Unless they are away.) ¤ When challenging for a herd land, you must post a thread in the herd land (not via PM!). If the lead does not reply to your post in one week you will win by default. (Unless the member is away.) If the challenged does reply accepting the challenge then you must begin a thread on this board (within 72 hours or your challenge will be void). ¤ Once the fight thread is posted on this board, if either opponent doesn't respond within 72 hours the other opponent wins by default. ¤ Posting as away will not count towards battles unless you post as away before the battle starts. ¤ Judges will decide who wins and their judgment will be based on points awarded for certain criteria. See "Judgment System" section below. ¤ Only one staff member needs to judge fights, however, you may request to have two staff members judge a fight ONLY if it is over land. A tie will result in a third judge. ¤ If an inactive lead loses their land they may not challenge again until one real life month has passed (eg. if they lost the land on 20th December they cannot challenge again until 20th January). ¤ Leads may set terms for the horses that challenge them. Such as who posts first, what happens to the loser, etc. ¤ The character being fought for has no say in who wins/who they go with.
Judgment System Points will be awarded for the following things:
0/10 -- grammar (correct spelling, punctuation, etc) 0/10 -- quality (flow of writing and overall readability) 0/10 -- attack (how well written the attacks were) 0/10 -- defense (how well written the reactions to attacks were) 0/10 -- character development (how well the writer knows their character and expresses that) +1 bonus point for being a land owner (only included in fights over land)
¤ The scores and bonus points (if applicable) will then be added up and the person with the highest amount will win.
**JUDGES, PLEASE INCLUDE IN YOUR JUDGEMENT A DESCRIPTION OF EACH FIGHTER'S INJURIES AND HOW LONG THOSE INJURIES WILL LAST**
