Victoria startled as something brushed against her leg, but only realized it was Ramone. I worry about you sometimes, Vici. Are the twins okay? His velvet voice stroked her mind, and she smiled immediately. " Sorry for ignoring you, Ramone. I have been with my mate for plenty a time now, and I figured it was time to get out and visit old acquaintances. But, apparently none remain in this land. Take a deep breath and smell. " She spoke aloud for him, nudging the soft, tuxedo cat. You are right. It's gone... The eerie silence from Ramone worried her, but she shook the thought, her mind traveling elsewhere. " It would be nice to own my own land, and be able to stay here before I join my mate. He didn't want me to force myself to join him until it was of natural causes. " She snorted loudly, scraping a hoof over the soft earth, destroying a few stalks of slender green grass. Maybe I could claim this land as my own. It's safe here, and I'd be able to help people if I remain here. Give them a safe haven to turn to when they have nowhere else to go. She made the mistake of not blocking the thought from Ramone and flinched, awaiting a snide remark back, but it didn't come. " Ramone, why do you keep quiet? Please tell me what is on your mind. " She nudged him again, harder. Are you sure you'd want to own it? It's not easy be the owner of land. You have to defend your herd, and keep the people safe and well fed. She thought hard for a moment, before smiling. " I know I'm ready. This is not only for me, but for Castiel, for my children and for those that need my help, Ramone. " She replied, standing tall now. Then do as you wish, Victoria. I'm not going to stand in your way if you are so persistent. She smiled, licking his forehead. " Thank you Ramone. " She took several steps forward, taking another whiff of the air. Stale. Everything was stale, and now was her chance, if she really wanted it. " I claim the land of Terra Prato as my own, so that those that seek refuge from the darkness can follow my light and seek solace from the evils around us. " She whispered into the breeze, remaining still as she heard it echo softly a bit away. To own land was one thing. To run a refuge was another. Without a word, she turns, nudging Ramone to follow as she travels deeper into her lands.[/ul]
