sun out tonight just keep your body moving how i like Being an equine that preferred solitude over companionship has its ups and downs. You never have anyone telling you what you can and can't do, but when you get yourself in a sticky situation, you don't have anyone to save your hide. For Hera, it was no different, although a mare of her stature didn't really have anything to be frightful of, lest it be bigger than her. She had only arrived in these lands, but she knew her stay within the territory could be counted by days. She was not one to stick to places that long. After her band had separated, she had went her merry way, traveling along the mountains cheerfully. Her lineage gave her the shaggy, long fur in the winter and feathering that could keep her warmer than most, and for that, she found solace within the cold and frosty air. However, for her to be so far out from the mountains, was indeed a big step, and one that would not be repeated ever again. The air was much too warm to her liking down on the ground, and her coat was lathered in a thin layer of sweat. She moved from tree to tree, golden amber eyes honed in on the clear water. It was not frozen solid, much to her liking, so she looked about, screening the area for predators, before trotting quietly up to the shore and extending her legs to slip into the water. She let out a soft nicker, her black forelock falling over her forehead and blocking her view. Holding her breath, she dips under long enough to saturate her coat and mane, before popping back up to the surface, shivering against the cool water. It wasn't too bad, juts not yet warm enough for long soaks. |
