Rin
A shrill whiny broke the still morning, followed by the sounds of water splashing against something. The sun was barely up, but it was already getting warm, which meant by the afternoon the heat would drive pretty much everything into hiding. In order to beat the heat, and return to her little cave that she was staying in while drifting through the land, a young filly had snuck down to the lake and was standing in the water, up to her belly. She hadn't really expected the water to be THAT cold and when she had basically barreled into the water without really checking, she paid for it! Then again, now standing in the water up to her belly, having just let out a loud noise which could possibly bring in other horses, Rin found herself a little concerned.
She should really think before she acted.
But there was no turning back at the moment. It had taken her days to find a suitable place to stay in the land and a few days afterwards she had been way to nervous to wonder out of the small cave-like area, in fear of finding other horses. She knew she had smelled them and heard them but hadn't seen any yet. After finally working up the courage, Rin had basically charged out of her hiding spot and raced for the lake. It had been SOOOOOO long since she had been clean!! The slight layer of dirt and blood had finally gotten to her!
Lowering herself into the water, Rin slowly slipped down into the lake, front legs tucked under her and then slowly pulling her back legs under her until she was comfortable. It didn't last long, she knew she couldn't stay in the water for long. So the long legged filly rolled. Her head went under the water and all four hooves went into the air as she thrashed about in the water. Soft pebbles rubbed against her back and sides as she rolled back and forth. She already felt cleaner!! Rolling back to her side, head breaking the surface, Rin sat in the water for just a little longer. Her black mane dripped water down an arched neck, white face, and pink muzzle. Her pale lips teased the surface of the water for just a few more moments, lingering in her relaxed position. Her eyes closed, though she tried to fight it.
