Rin The heat wasn't getting any better. However, with evening approaching, Rin found that she could venture from the cave she had hidden away in and explore the land she had settled into. So far, she had made it back down the lake a time or two, but mostly stayed higher in the mountains. She was still young enough and quick enough that she could move about the rocks well enough and used that to her advantage if needed. As it was, she had yet needed to run swiftly through the mountains, though she should have at least tested it once or twice just to make sure she could escape.
But Rin didn't think that way.
No, what she saw was a beautiful mountain, capped in snowy white caps, dotted with trees and brush that turned beautiful in the setting sun. As the young filly walked slowly through the fading light, she found herself coming to a slight clearing in the trees. It seemed to be a small drop off, enough of a gap between the trees for a couple of horses to stand side by side and look out over the landscape, but Rin found being alone in the little spot calming. She stood proud, head lifted a little, neck arched finely, all four hooves planted. Her hide had recently been cleaned, the fresh wound from her clumsy run-in with a tree was slowly healing, but otherwise, she was starting to look a bit more like a good looking horse. Not nearly as heavy as she should have been in the weight department, but she was getting there. The forest and the mountains were helping her.

Puzzle moved through the trees, almost upwards on the slope. It wasn't steep, so the walking part wasn't as hard as it could have been. His blue leopard spotting on a white coat seemed too dark, but he knew that once he started to age more, the blue would roan out to a pale blue-grey. He could hardly wait for that to happen. He wanted to be completely roaned out and well muscled and to dance and show off for the ladies.
He needed attention; he was growing bored. His muscled twitched under a spotted coat before he moved himself into a steady paced trot. Hooves kissed the ground as Puzzle moved, his actions almost - almost being the operative word - elegant for his breed. A short, snow colored mane tickled the sides of his neck evenly parted down the middle. It was thick, but darn near perfect.
A snow tail trailed behind him, almost touching the ground in length, while he moved. Bright green eyes searched the world around him, determining where he was to place his hooves and in which direction to turn. As it so happens, he decided that turning left was a good idea and he popped into an opening near some water. Stopping quickly, he pushed his ears forward and looked around, taking in any new sounds or scents.
He hadn't seen the girl standing in the trees, but could smell the scent of her. Unfortunately, the young male had no idea if the scent he had was female or male or even friendly. For all he knew, the scent was dangerous. Did he leave? Nope. He would look for the animal giving the scent off.
