How long had it been since the small two year old filly had
slept? She didn't recall when she fell into the unconscious
anymore, her mind simply turning off while she walked making
it seem like she merely blinked and she had been instantly
teleported to another land. She was forever lost in mind,
body and spirit, never knowing where she was or where she was
going. All the youngster was certain of was her need to keep
moving. If she stopped then the monsters would catch up.
Though she had only experienced two years of life her fragile
mind was broken beyond all hopes of repair. Nightmares keptAxe from restful slumber, her exhausted mind projecting its
terrors into the real world in the form of horrific
hallucinations of monsters stalking her from the shadows. Her
petite body mirrored her inner turmoil. Her true black coat
was malnourished and ragged, so stresses it appeared
sunbleached and most bones were clearly visible, each rib
easily counted.
With the firey bringer of light at the top of its climb, the
young fae could relax her choppy walk to a slow amble as the
light drove all of the monsters into hiding. She had been
half dozing when she was lured to this land by its strange
scent. The tall purple flowers tickled her side's as the
filly weaved between the pale shrubs. Their odour was strong,
assaulting the youngsters nares, though Axe found herself
relaxing further into its heavy embrace. These plants must
have had some magical healing quality.
Her aching hooves came to a halt in the heart of the land,
unfocused gaze washing over the carpet of vibrant purples and
washed out grays. The golden light of the sun touched every
corner of this land, which meant Axe was hopefully safe from
the monsters for a few hours. She allowed her skull to fall
slowly, dry lips picking at the fragrant flowers. They were
smooth on her tongue and soothing to her starved stomach. She
spent some time lazily picking at pettles, her stomach not
requiring much to silence its complaints due to its previous
neglect. With the sun warming her weary bones and the flowers
perfume lulling the filly into relaxation, she took the rare
opportunity to drop her body to the soft earth and close her
white rimmed optics. Hopefully she would sleep so heavily
that her mind wouldn't be able to conjure nightmares
