256 . anyone . hello there i'm falico!
| Xudron's hooves gently touched the ground as she effortlessly moved through the hilly forest. Trees seemed to border the outsides; pines, oaks, willows, maples just to name a few. She looked at them carefully, her green eyes observing the world around her. Her mind couldn't remember ever coming here but it felt homey and safe, almost as if she had always belonged here. Her feathered legs enjoyed the feeling of the fresh grass while her dappled body enjoyed the warmth of the sun beating down on it.
She cantered up a hillside, wanting to see more of the land below her. She arrived at the top, her eyes scanning the horizon. No predators seem to be around. Birds could be heard, she swore she had even seen a family of squirrels, but not a single wolf, cougar, or bear. Her journey had been a good one so far and she hoped to keep it that way. As Xu went to walk down the hill she caught movement out of the corner of her eye. She shook her head, flicking her mane out of her face, as she looked for an answer of what the movement could have been. It looked large, as if a large horse was nearby. She stood still, her body ready to fight, flee, or greet. "Hello?" Her gentle voice echoed across the hills, giving her slight chills as she waited for an answer. She hadn't seen a horse in her few days here but maybe she was about to meet one.

The spring winds were a comfort to his soft skin, promising sunshine and perhaps a light shower of spring rain. This was good news to Saker - a traveller, walking the wilderness with no home to shelter within. He found pleasure in the warmth on his back, the moist earth beneath his sharp, round hooves - and never the hearth, the home or family. Such a life had been boring to him, and unwanted. It was a rare occasion that he sat back on his young heels and missed such a life, though it was also a rare occasion for him to turn away company, for his life was a lonely one. This land, Tathra, was abundant in life, health and history, and served many delightful wonders in it's expansive arms. The Hills were a pleasant place to meander, especially in the warmth and the sunshine - though they seemed too empty. Perhaps those that lived upon the bosom of the earth knew how to fade into it's atmosphere, wraiths in the trees. Saker could not help but to shudder, gentle hazel eyes quickly scanning the hilltops and the treelike.
He saw her, then. She was not much taller than he, but certainly looked stronger. Saker could not help but to examine the lines of her body: strong and stoic, where he stood lean and adolescent. She did not look much older than he, but a closer look wouldn't hurt. He moved toward her purposefully, tall legs moving with grace and poise despite his certainty that he moved as a child might. He could not be certain he was drawing close to her as the trees swallowed him, but kept his sharp ears pricked and alert, his long lashes squinting through the dappled sunlight. Hello? Her voice was soft, a gentle soul. He felt appeased, glad to have searched her out. Saker stepped from the trees quietly, pausing in a ripple of sunlit dapples - clear enough, but a confused mess of grey and silver in the golden light. He wondered what she would see, knowing only the facts of his appearance and nothing deeper. The facts were this: he was tall, but not strong. Softly coloured, but not pale or ghostly. Young, but not inexperienced. In some aspects he could have been considered beautiful, and others plain. Suddenly uncertain, he spoke; "I'm sorry if i'm intruding - truth is, I wouldn't mind someone to share this sunshine with." A hesitant smile graced his soft pink lips, head tilting ever so slightly.
@falico you're our lucky first poster! Glad to have you onboard <3

296 . anyone . Yay! Pleasure to meet you all!
| The trees gently parted to reveal a horse and she felt the tension release from her broad shoulders. The horse, a unique blend of silver and grey, fascinated her. She had never seen such colouring and it made her more curious about the horse than she probably should be. His coat was grey, with silver flecked across, yet he had white socks, as if to give him more pizazz. He had pink on his belly and nose, while a crooked blaze outfitted his face. His mane and tail were even uniquely coloured, exciting her. It was like she was meeting some god, too unique for this basic world. The horse spoke, revealing that it was a stallion before her. He wasn't built like most stallions she knew, lean and deep chested but not broad and muscular. Most stallions were as built as Xudron, if not slightly bigger. The Gypsy Vanner gave her that advantage. Yet, as she looked at this horse, she didn't think she would need to protect herself.
He cocked his head slightly as he spoke and walked towards her, she didn't feel uneasy but certainly wasn't getting comfortable until she knew a little more about him. She walked around him in a wide circle, observing him and what he may be hiding, before stopping a few feet from his muzzle. Her green eyes locked with his hazel eyes, and she smiled slightly. " I would love to share the sun with someone. My name is Xudron, Xu for short. And I apologize for looking you over, haven't had the best experiences with stallions. If you know what I mean." She shuddered ever so slightly as she waited for his name to be said. Surely he would have a name to match his unique looks.

He allowed her to circle him, feeling his skin creep a little as soon as she was out of sight and behind him. It was a natural instinct, he thought, to be uneasy as soon as a stranger vanished - but it was also an inherited tension grown from having siblings and wary parents. While he had been a gentle, quiet child - content to enjoy the presence of his siblings, there had been others, manon, that did not feel the same. He shook the thought from his handsome head and allowed a warm smile to grasp his lips as his new companion returned to face him, her own lips bent in a warm, curious smile. Saker noticed with interest as she spoke that her eyes were a stunning shade of emerald, peering out from behind a thicket of black lashes. He thought suddenly that she was quite beautiful, and felt shame at what other stallions had done; though he didn't know the details, he could assume only the worst. He flicked his tail as if to remove the thought, and spoke;
"Saker's my name... and no offence could possibly be taken for such a thing." He paused, looking past her to the tip of the hill and the vast expanse of unclaimed land beyond. "Have you been here before? It's quite lovely, really. A surprise that it has been left unclaimed so long." Saker looked back toward Xudron, his eyes lost in thought for a moment. He'd never had the ambition to own his own land, and besides, he wasn't done exploring - but perhaps one day... The Hills were quite a fitting place for a man with his heart set on seeing the world. "Where do you hail from, Xu... if you don't mind me asking?"

307 . anyone . Sorry for the wait!
| Xudron watched the stallion a little closer as he flicked his tail and spoke. He mentioned the lands were unclaimed, something that excited her, and then asked where she hailed from. She felt a lump in her throat as he asked and she thought about home. She thought of the sunny days of her childhood, the sandy beaches and beautiful sea. How it used to tickle her belly as she ran through the waves, how her herd had lived so freely until the humans had arrived. They showed up on horses, wearing unusual things on their backs and face. Their spirits were tamed and eyes showed sadness, as they round up the wild herd. Xudron was the lead mare's only daughter and she was quickly rushed away from the herd by her mother. The tamed horses, decorated in paint of all colours and with feathers in their mane and tails, chased them, probably wanting them for their size. Her mother had the vanner blood within her too. Xudron found a safe place to hide while her mother was captured. She spent the next two years wandering, finally stumbling along these lands. In those two years she had dealt with her fair share of things. Predators, more humans, and stallions. Stallions who thought they were the greatest thing since grass. Her thoughts faded and she snapped back to reality, looking at Saker.
"I come from away. I used to live by the beach. Humans took my herd. I've been alone for a few years. Nothing major has happened. Just dealing with things alone, and with stallions who seem to think they are the best thing ever." She rolled her eyes, not understanding how stallions could act like that. "You said these lands are unclaimed, I wonder how they would feel about a made claiming them.

Instantly her eyes seemed to fog with memories, and Saker almost felt guilty for asking about her past - they were often uncomfortable things, histories. His own was nothing special, his family had been kind and loving save for his younger sister, Manon. She had been a vicious, uncaring thing with only glory on her mind. Saker shook his own head, half in amusement and half in exasperation. Too many in this world sought out the glory that came hand in hand with power. Pity echoed in his hazel eyes as she recited what he was certain was a tender story about how she had ended up here, the wild and unclaimed lands of Tathra. He could not help but feel slightly offended, however, when she spoke of stallions. She obviously had no love for them - and certainly, Saker knew some men that did not deserve to be spoken of with respect. But, after all, he was a stallion.
His voice came wryly now, in answer to her question. "Power is power, Xudron. It does not matter if you are a man or a woman." Saker could not help but the shake his head ever so slightly, as if he could have wanted nothing less. Power brought trouble, no matter where you stood. "I've heard at least two of the old herds were ruled by mares: and they were better for it, I imagine... though where they are now, I could not tell you." He paused, shifting his gaze to the horizon. "What will you do now, then? Gather followers? A Queen is only a Queen if she has subjects to rule over."
@falico sorry it took so long!
